Global Corporate Challenge speeding ticket issued

Posted on June 25, 2009

Global Corporate Challenge participants are encouraged to aim for 10,000 steps a day. This is a tall order for full time workers who may not be overly active throughout the working day but it is an important goal to strive for as it promotes a healthy lifestyle and general well being.

With this in mind the Global Corporate Challenge people have set up a system whereby a participant is awarded a "speeding ticket" if their daily count is unexpectedly high (30,000 steps). If the participant can explain the unusually high daily count the ticket is removed.

Peter MacMillan (Managing Director: Alliance Equipment Finance) had to recently plead his case to the GCC Jury after clocking up an extraordinary 35,339 steps in one day!

"I was on holidays and at a golfing event with friends. After a 5km run I played golf in the afternoon. The quality of golf I play ensured I was able to increase my step count considerably as I added to an already long course by using ALL of the course for my game. This was followed by an evening (4 hours) of table tennis and snooker to top off a great day. Now if someone wants to give me more days off to mirror this then I am happy to rack up some more steps for the team ; )" Peter Said.

Keep up the good work team, this is one time where we can say speeding tickets are encouraged.
